Far from a pretty woman: Khloe Kardashian's thigh-high boots and black and red dress did little to flatter her figure
When Julia Roberts wore thigh-high boots as prostitute Vivian Ward in 1990 film Pretty Woman she started something of a footwear trend.
And now, more than two decades later, the latest celebrity to try out the style is Khloe Kardashian, who opted for black thigh-high boots as she stepped out in New York yesterday.
However, the 27-year-old reality star looked anything but a pretty woman in the Christian Louboutin boots, which she teamed with an equally unflattering black and red dress.
Instead of drawing attention to her svelte figure, the outfit made Khloe look larger than she is and the heeled boots added inches to her already towering height.
Khloe is in New York with her sister Kourtney and husband Lamar Odom as she fits in some business in Manhattan.
As well as having a meeting with the team at nail giants OPI to come up with a range of Khloe Kardashain nail paints, Khloe is tonight launching a new favoured vodka called Hpnotiq Harmonie at an exclusive party.
Not a good look: The outfit proved very unflattering as Khloe headed out to lunch in New York yesterday
Inspiration? Khloe's look seemed to have been inspired by Julia Roberts' outfit in 1990 movie Pretty Woman
Meanwhile, as well as setting up business meetings, Khloe's sister also managed to squeeze in some shopping during her time in the Big Apple.
But it seems the beige Christian Louboutin platforms Kourtney chose for her shopping trip were a bit too much to bare for the older Kardashian today.
The 32-year-old was later forced to ditch her designer stilettos in favour of a pair of simple flats.
Out with the ouch! Khloe's sister Kourtney was forced to ditch her towering Christian Louboutins in favour of a pair of simple flats as she went shopping in Manhattan
At first the reality star appeared comfortable manoeuvring herself around the city with her boyfriend Scott Disick in the potentially ankle breaking footwear.
But after a few too many stops at the shops, it appeared that she had had enough.
And it was a good thing that the couple were in the high end shopping precinct of Madison and 5th Aves.
At ease... sort of: At first the reality star appeared comfortable manoeuvring herself around the city with her boyfriend Scott Disick in the potentially ankle breaking footwear
The couple shopped at Barney's before looking for new shoes at TODD'S and then off to Bergdorff Men's for Scott.
High heels or flats, Kourtney looked pretty in a citrus yellow snakeskin print jumpsuit which she paired with a giant orange Hermes bag.
She wore her hair out in loose waves and slicked on some red-lipstick.

How high can you go? The stilettos were Kourtney's highest pair yet
Kourtney's outing comes after she was seen on last night's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian's rowing with her mother Kris.
The reality star was resisting her mother's efforts to push her down the aisle.
After years of despising Kourtney's boyfriend and father of her child Mason, Scott, Kris decided that he was a suitable son-in-law after all.
Heading home: Kourtney and Scott were later seen leaving New York's JFK Airport with son Mason
Adorable: The couple's son looked cute in his white T-shirt and black trousers, while Scott wore a jumper casually draped across his shoulders
She said she wanted her eldest daughter to have a 'happily ever after' and to stop going 'against God's will.'
After being ordained in order to preside over the marriage ceremony of her friend Pastor Brad, Kris expressed her desire for her next wedding to be that of Kourtney and Scott.
And when her daughter made a throwaway comment about possibly having a second baby, Kris was appalled.
Pampering session: Back in Beverly Hills, Kim got a manicure and massage at the same time at her local beauty salon
Dressed down: The reality star wore black workout gear and little make-up as she headed to the salon
'Mason was an amazing surprise,' Kris said. 'But now that she's thinking of another baby I think she should buckle down, get married and do things the traditional way.'
Somewhat surprisingly, Scott appeared to agree.
Speaking to his therapist, the slick New Yorker revealed that he would have preferred to have been married before having a baby, and that despite Kourtney turning down his earlier proposal, he still thought about marriage frequently.
But Scott admitted all was not well in the couple's relationship.
He said that he was frequently sleeping in the guest room. 'I feel like it's her (Kourtney) and the baby, and then me. I feel a bit jealous.'
Showdown: Kris Jenner and her daughter Kourtney went head to head in the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, last night
At a family get together, Kris asked Kourtney and Scott to stand in for the bride and groom as she practised the upcoming marriage ceremony.
And the 55-year-old matriarch didn't hold back on telling the couple what she thought of them.
'What you're doing goes against everything I believe in,' Kris said. 'You grow up, you get married and you have babies. It's tradition.'
'F*** your tradition.' headstrong Kourtney retorted.
Will you take this man? Kourtney resisted the idea of marriage, despite partner Scott saying he wanted to marry her
Kim also agreed with her mother on the subject, telling Kourtney that she and Scott were going against her own beliefs in marriage.
After storming out, Kourtney eventually revealed to Kim that the reason for her hesitation is lingering trauma from her parents' divorce.
The family has spoken openly in the past about Kourtney finding her mother's split from their father, the late Robert Kardashian, very difficult to deal with.
Whose side are you on? Kourtney was surprised when sister Kim sided with their mother
She wore black for an extended period of time following the divorce in 1989 and lived with her father for several years following Kris' marriage to Bruce Jenner.
Kourtney told her sister that given her tumultuous past with Scott, she was not prepared to put herself, and her son, through something similar.
'Until I really know that Scott is 100 per cent good, I don't want to put Mason through what we went through with our parents,' she told Kim.
Traditionalist: The family matriarch admitted she was upset by Kourtney's choice to remain unmarried
At the wedding ceremony, Kris' jibes became too much too handle, and Kourtney pulled her aside to tell her once and for all to stop meddling.
Kris was left in tears, telling her eldest daughter she was disappointed in the way she was living her life.
'You raise your children a certain way and you expect them to be certain people,' she cried.
Comfortable: Kourtney went for flats again as she, Scott and baby Mason jetted out of JFK this evening
