Their homes might be on opposites sides of the world in London and Melbourne.

But Liz Hurley and Shane Warne looked equally as happy smack bang in the middle of the two cities.

The betrothed couple were snapped beaming from ear to ear as they strolled round New York after enjoying a romantic lunch together.


The pair held hands as they left Nellos on the Upper east Side, a favourite restaurant of many a celebrity.

Liz, 46, and Shane, 42, looked relaxed and happy as they walked along the street.

At one point, Liz, who was dressed in tight leather trousers and a leopard print gillet, snuggled into her cricketer beau and whispered something in his ear.

He responded by pulling her to him as she went to put her head on his shoulder, the pair of them looking blissfully in love.

Liz has been in the city filming scenes fro Gossip Girl in which she is playing sexy, empowered media mogul, Diane Payne.

Her fiancé flew out to join and support her and on Wednesday night, the pair put on their glad rags to attend a charity night in the city.

They were guests at the at the amfAR gala to kick of New York Fashion week and Liz looked stunning in a stone-coloured Roberto Cavalli dress.

She was sporting a stunning sapphire and diamond ring on her wedding finger today, but Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne chose not to comment on the reports he had popped the question when they appeared together at the Dunhill tournament today.

Now, the couple have confirmed their engagement by thanking fans for their well wishes over their Twitter accounts.

'Thanks for all your congratulations,' Hurley tweeted, adding a picture of the couple which she said was taken just before the dinner last night at St Andrews where Warne, 42, proposed.


The Estée Lauder model presumably had no idea that her boyfriend of ten months was about to ask her to marry him as they posed happily for a picture inside the exclusive Old Course Hotel.

Miss Hurley was wearing a strapless nude bandage dress and heavy smokey eye-make-up while the Australian cricketer wore a sharp suit and purple tie.

The sportsman grinned mischievously at the camera, clearly excited about his plan.
And we all know what Elizabeth's answer was to be, as she flashed her stunning ring as she cheered her new fiance on at the tournament again today.

The stunning ring, which features a huge square sapphire and two diamonds on either side, looked right at home on Hurley's left hand.

The Estée Lauder model, 45, went for a casual look in a pair of navy jogging bottoms, jumper and scarf as she took to the golf course with Warne, who opted for a baby blue jumper and beige trousers.

Damien, nine, clutched on to his mother's arm as he posed up for a photo with Hurley and Warne, who will soon be his stepfather.

Warne is believed to have proposed in a restaurant at the exclusive Old Course Hotel in St Andrews following a romantic meal.

Warne, 42, made the declaration in front of stunned VIP guests in the hotel’s fine dining Road Hole Restaurant, sources said.

The source said: ‘Shane proposed over dinner and it was fairly public, not a private affair.

'It was a VIP crowd in there this evening. It was residents only, including Dunhill past players.

‘He didn’t get down on one knee, but when it was announced the other guests in the restaurant stood up and applauded.

‘Everyone there was absolutely delighted.’

A spokesman for the Scottish hotel said they were unable to comment on the news.

Speculation has been rife Warne was planning to propose to the 45-year-old model and mother-of-one. They have been dating for only ten months.

Warne was divorced in 2006 after ten years of marriage to wife Simone. Hurley divorced textiles heir Arun Nayar in June.

The Old Course Hotel has 144 lavish bedrooms and suites, many of them designed by top French designer Jacques Garcia.

Both avid Twitter users, Mr Warne’s last tweet to Miss Hurley before asking for her hand read: ‘Let’s play the Dunhill together next year - you up for it?

The marriage proposal is believed to have been made in the fine dining restaurant of the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews

A spokesman for the couple was unavailable today.

Warne has undergone a radical physical transformation in recent months though he has has denied going under the knife He says his youthful look is down to love and his smoother skin is thanks to the help of Hurley.

Shane Warne has finally spoken out about claims that he has undergone plastic surgery to maintain his astonishingly youthful looks.

In a candid new radio interview, he has denied going under the surgeon's knife, and instead credits his new lease of life to being in love and healthier habits.

The star bowler also refused to confirm or deny rumours of an engagement to Liz Hurley.


Talking openly on 3AW's breakfast show today, Shane stressed that he had never even contacted a plastic surgeon.

'I've got some wrinkles,' Shane admitted, but emphasised: 'I have never even had a consultation with a plastic surgeon.'

Shane even indicated that the media have manipulated images of his face to promote the idea that he's had work done

'I don't think it's right or fair to the public to portray me as a person with no wrinkles,' he said.

'I've got some legal advice on that at the moment. Some pictures have been doctored. That's illegal in this country.'

No longer a beer and pie guy: Chatting on 3AW radio this morning Shane insisted he just cut out the junk to keep pace with younger players


'I haven't changed one bit,' the 42 year old insisted.

Warne said that he has adopted a more moderate lifestyle as a way of keeping up with younger players. His weight loss started when he began a new TV show in Australia last October.

'I'm no longer the 30-year-old bloke who used to sit in the changing room and have beer and pies. I still do that but I'm 42 and maturing now. I still like my beans in the morning. Or my spaghetti on toast,' Shane said.

'I'm around 78 kilos at the moment. I'm running. I'm fit, I'm strong. I was around 92kg when I was playing.

He added: 'I actually wanted to get fit. I got into it and I really started to enjoy it so I have kept going.'

Shane addressed the widely held belief that his relationship with model Elizabeth Hurley was the reason behind his health kick: 'I think Liz is annoyed about reports she's the person who's changed me.'

'Elizabeth Hurley hasn't got her high heels in the middle of my back saying, "You must do 100 push ups" and, "You can't do that". It's absolute rubbish.

'Suddenly people see you with Elizabeth Hurley and they see you mixing with some of her friends and they think, "Where's this Aussie guy who had a pie and beer in his hand gone?"'

'I'm the fittest I have ever been, I'm the happiest I have ever been. I'm healthy, what's the crime here?'

Nevertheless he admitted to some remaining vices. 'I still eat pizzas, I still have a pie and a beer, but it's all in moderation,' Shane confessed.

When the conversation turned to more romantic matters, Shane was less forthcoming, and refused to say whether he had proposed.

'If I had some sort of news about that I'd be happy to share it with you,' he said.
When interviewer Neil Mitchell persisted, a smiling Warne replied: 'As I said Neil, if there is any news, I will let you know.'

Asked if he was in love, he replied: "Yes I am.

He continued, 'I was lucky to meet Elizabeth, we've met, we're having a great time and I am in love with her. We're going really well, it's easy with each other.'

'It's a bit interesting. It's different at times, in her world. But she likes my world. Together, we make a pretty good partnership.'

'It's nice that the people out there think that we make a good couple and they're happy for us. She's a lovely lady. The kids are accepting of her.'

The couple couldn't contain their affection as they left the ground after the third match of the four-match Test series in which England beat India to take a 3-0 lead.

Clearly delighted at the home win, Liz showed her happiness with a smacker for her Australian, who was commentating on the match for Sky Sports.

And she took to her Twitter page a few hours before to write: 'Standing on the pitch watching SW spouting pearls of wisdom for Sky.....loving it. Bit nippy though.'

The actress, 45, has been slammed in recent weeks for 'emasculating' Warne in a slim, shiny-faced metrosexual.

Now it appears Shane Warne is not just slick, but also most definitely sleek.

The Australian cricketer cut an extraordinarily slim figure as he emerged from Miss Hurley’s West London home.


He revealed he has shed two stone in four months, but denies his glamorous girlfriend – notorious for her own strict fitness regime – is behind his image makeover.

The 41-year-old said he had embarked on a training programme off his own back, writing on Twitter: ‘I have always taken pride in my appearance and an attack on EH is unfair.

'I’m proud of how I look and worked my butt off for 4 months.’

Liz Hurley has leapt to the defence of her boyfriend Shane Warne amid rumours he has begun wearing make-up.

The 46-year-old actress refuted claims Warne's remarkable transformation since the pair started dating is down to a spot of lip gloss and eye liner.

Australian cricketer Warne has ditched his laddish looks and clothes in recent months in favour of a more refined English gentleman style.


But Bedazzled star Hurley took to Twitter to deny her boyfriend's dramatic makeover involved the use of cosmetics.

In a series of posts, Hurley insisted that Warne's new look was entirely natural.

She Tweeted: 'SW does not wear eye makeup or have an "eye liner tattoo".... his eyes were born that way!

'Neither does he wear lip gloss fyi hacks in gossip press; he'd prob just given me a kiss & got a bit of mine.'

The actress and a radically different looking Warne,41, were photographed together attending Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball last month.

Shane also refuted the claims, putting his new youthful looks down to a healthy eating regime, exercise and a 'good moisturiser..

Hurley - whose divorce from businessman Arun Nayar was confirmed in June - began seeing Warne last year.

The romance appeared short-lived after he was exposed for sending sexually explicit texts to an Australian businesswoman earlier this year.

But the relationship appeared to be back on track after Hurley jetted out to India to watch Warne star for the Rajasthan Royals in the country's cricket premier league.

Notorious dieter Hurley had earlier revealed her horror on Twitter after learning the calorie count of one of her favourite snacks.

She exclaimed: 'Horrified to see calorific notes next to muffins in Starbucks; I frequently polish off one at 480 calories. Swoon.'

After years on the catwalk and at glitzy red carpet events you would think Liz Hurley had got the hang of walking in heels.

But she clearly forgot today as she took a tumble at a village fete in the Cotswolds today - in front of new boyfriend Shane Warne.

Perhaps she should have opted for more sensible footwear for the Gloucestershire terrain as she opened the event in Ampney Crucis in front of hundreds of villagers.

Normally the epitome of elegance and poise, model and actress was walking down some steps moments after declaring the fete open when her nude wedges got the better of her.

She lost her balance making a dive for the railings in a bid to stay upright and seemed to topple over on her left foot.

She did not appear to have hurt herself though as she was seen back on two feet within no time leafing through second hand books.

However, she did clutch Warne's hand for the rest of the afternoon just in case she took another tumble.

Her shoes were not the only part of her outfit Ms Hurley seemed to get wrong today.

Whilst almost all the villagers were prepared for the unsettled weather in flat shoes, jumpers and coats, Ms Hurley shivered in a bright yellow sleeveless sun dress for the event.

Fete organisers were delighted Ms Hurley decided to open the fete. Both previous times organisers have taken more than £3,000.

The Austin Powers actress has been dating Warne since last December.

In the last few weeks there has been a notable change in his appearance, with significant weight loss and a dramatically preened new look.

A top plastic surgeon believes he has opted for surgery but he insists it is down to his girlfriend's beauty creams.

Ms Hurley has become a regular at the Ampney Crucis summer fete since moving from London to the 400-acre Ampney Knowle organic farm in Gloucestershire in 2008.

While she may be more used to A-list parties, the activities at the fete included Women’s Institute teas, a Pimm’s tent, bottle tombola and a dog agility show.

The couple have barely been out of the news lately. On Thursday, they stole the show at Sir Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball and on Friday were seen kissing in a London cafe.

They are said to have started dating in December. Ms Hurley’s four-year marriage to Arun Nayar ended when a divorce was granted earlier this month.
