Well that was fast! Alex Gerrard is back in high heels and PVC just TEN days after giving birth

11 days is all it took for Alex Gerrard to get back into the swing of things.

The wife of Liverpool FC and England midfielder Steven Gerrard gave birth at the start of this month to her third child but looked in great shape last night.

After recuperating at home with her new addition, Lourdes, Alex was ready to let her hair down and pulled off a tough outfit.


Along with a group of friends the Scouse WAG ventured out into Liverpool for a celebratory drink with her nearest and dearest.

The 29-year-old must have been doing some serious yoga training during her pregnancy as she effortlessly fitted into a pair of wet-look leggings.

Walking through a rainy Merseyside, Alex flashed her huge engagement ring as she tried to protect herself from the downpour.

The uber-WAG, who writes a weekly fashion column, also wore black heels, a grey jumper and a black blazer.

The large group of friends met at the posh San Carlo Italian restaurant where they had dinner and made a toast to baby Lourdes.

Former nail-technician Alex then led the group to a few bars in Liverpool as the mother-of-three acquainted herself with some of her favourite haunts in the city.

Steven and Alex already have two other daughters, Lilly-Ella, seven, and five-year-old Lexie.

Lourdes is the name of the French town to which millions of Catholic pilgrims travel every year.

It is also where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a poor 14-year-old girl called Bernadette Soubiroux in 1858.

Both Steven and Alex are practising Catholics so that might have swayed their decision to call their third daughter Lourdes.

Gerrard attended the Cardinal Heenan Catholic high school in West Derby, Liverpool, and he and Alex were married in a Catholic cermony at St Monans Church in Buckinghamshire on 16 June 2007.

Tending to sick Steven: Alex Gerrard looks strained as she visits her injured footballer husband in hospital

Worrying about Steve: Alex Gerrard looked apprehensive as she arrived at the hospital to visit her sick husband earlier today


In the coming months she will no doubt pay a number of visits to the hospital to ensure all is progressing well with her pregnancy.

But earlier today it was Alex Gerrard who was playing nurse as she made a visit to see her sick husband Steven, who is currently suffering from a groin infection.

The WAG was seen looking chic but crucially comfortable in her floral maxi-dress as she arrived at the hospital to see the England midfielder, who was admitted over the weekend.


The 31-year-old Liverpool player was found to have an infection in his groin, an area he had surgery on last season and his wife was on hand to visit him at his sick bed.

And as Alex arrived at the hospital it appeared she was showing signs of strain as she made her way in to visit the footballer.

The 28-year-old mother-of-two had donned a strapless floor-length dress with a pretty petal pattern which she teamed with a pair of gold strappy sandals.

She has been pregnant twice before and it appears that Alex Gerrard knows how to the hit the style mark with her mother-to-be wardrobe.

And in keeping with her relaxed attire she had put her golden hair up into a loose and messy bun and had opted for minimal makeup.

But while the WAG appeared to have her baby bump style nailed she recently admitted that she doesn’t feel nice in clothes when she is pregnant.

Writing in her OK! Magazine column last week she said: ‘I don’t want to spend a fortune on clothes when I’m pregnant because I don’t feel nice in clothes I‘m not going to get much wear out of it, but I did find a few nice bits to put away for when I’ve had the baby.’

Alex, who is expecting her third child with her footballer husband Steven Gerrard just before Christmas, had been in London with friends but didn’t want to shop up a storm.
