Lady Gaga smokes cannabis live on stage... in Amsterdam of course

By Louise Saunders

She's previously admitted to being 'a little bit part of the green club' and Gaga revealed all to her fans - many of them young - as she smoked marijuana onstage.

In a video captured at her performance in Amsterdam earlier this week. The singer was seen mid-show lighting a big joint and inhaling on it during a break in the show.

Praising the 'wondrous' drug, the 26-year-old singer told fans she had cut down on drinking alcohol because she prefers smoking the substance.

Lighting up: Lady Gaga smoked marijuana while on stage in Amsterdam earlier this week

The Born This Way hitmaker revealed cannabis has helped her approach her music from a 'spiritual' perspective.

She told The Sun newspaper: 'I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I’ve really cut down on drinking.

'It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music.

'It’s like saying everybody needs to take a breath and it’s going to be OK.'

Paying tribute to the 'medical wonders' of marijuana, Mother Monster said she thought Amsterdam was the 'appropriate place' to tell her Little Monsters about her feelings for the drug.

Of course, in the Netherlands smoking the substance has been essentially decriminalised with the possession and purchase of cannabis tolerated in small amounts.

While some fans appreciated her honesty, many were left unimpressed by her antics.

One fan group tweeted: 'Stop Smoking Marijuana Gaga. No Drugs Just Art. @ladygaga Stop pleaser!!' (sic)

Another Twitter user posted a link adding: 'What a role model to kids ey?'

Gaga also joked that she was going to talk to US President Barack Obama in a bid to make marijuana legal in America.

The singer revealed she tested 'borderline positive' for Lupus in 2010 might well use the drug for medicinal reasons.

The eccentric singer has previously admitted to dabbling in hard drugs in the past, and explained she is now an occasional user of marijuana.

She said during a discussion with The View panel in 2011: 'I am a little bit part of the green club’.

But the New Yorker - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - explained how she stopped using hard drugs when her father called her out.

She said: ‘My dad was like, “I know what you're doing, and just so you know, I did it and I lost every friend and everything that I ever had while I did it.”

'He shared with me his life story and his struggle, so that was what ultimately changed my life. Honestly it was the best thing that happened. I never went back.’

Addressing her fans, Gaga said: ‘There's a way to be recreational and be young and rebellious and have a good time and not hurt yourself.’

Meanwhile, the singer has been involved in a public feud with Madonna, after the Queen of Pop reportedly claimed Gaga's song Born This Way was a rip-off of her classic track Express Yourself.

But Madonna took steps to mend it on Saturday while on stage in Atlantic City. She dedicated her track Masterpiece to the younger singer and hinted she is ready to put their bad blood behind her.

'You wanna know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery,' she said.

'One day, very soon, we're going to be on stage together. Just you wait. You think I'm kidding? I love Lady Gaga.'

She's definitely not a vegetarian! Lady Gaga models ANOTHER meat dress on her Asian tour... but this time it's a fake

By Kirsty Mccormack

Fan of meat: Lady Gaga models another meaty dress as she performs at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre in Taiwan

She's not one to wear the same outfit twice, but Lady Gaga has broken this rule simply for her love of raw meat.

The 26-year-old singer modelled another outfit that appeared to be made entirely of red meat as she took to the stage in Taipei, Taiwan yesterday.

However, in line with keeping things fresh, Gaga wore a variation of the controversial outfit she shocked fans with back in 2010 and this time it was a fake.

Similar looks: The raw meat garment was in fact a corset whereas the one Gag wore in 2010 was a floor-length dress

The garment was in fact a meat corset made from fabric rather than actual animals, which she wore with matching meat skirt, ankle boots and black fishnet tights.

As she sang her well-known songs, the blonde star danced on stage surrounded by props that resembled large cuts of meat.

Gaga's fans were no doubt expecting nothing less from the hit singer, and it probably came as less of a shock as it did at the MTV Music Awards two years ago.

First time round: The singer shocked fans when she wore the unusual dress to the MTV Music Awards two years ago

The Let's Dance changed costume several times while performing to her fans in Asia, but her other outfits seems relatively normal compare to her meat dress.

As she frolicked with a male dancer and sat atop a motorbike, the slender star donned a black leather and studded bra and briefs which she teamed with knee-high lace-up boots.

Outfit change: The singe also performed wearing black leather studded bikini and briefs which she teamed with lace up boots

On yer bike! Gaga also came on stage atop of a motorcycle

She also opted for the opposite by wearing an eccentric white dress which included over-the-top shoulder pads and quilted detail.

She wore an odd mask with it too that featured horns as she danced onstage.

At one point Gaga even donned a black guitar as she sung to the audience wearing a black glittery jacket and the same PVC boots.

She can play too! Gaga used a black guitar as one of her many props during the show

She also wore a light pink origami-type dress and a matching hat, and a Statue of Liberty-esque crown as she sung her number hits from her latest album Born This Way.

Following her two dates in Taiwan, Gaga will head to the Phillipines, Thailand and Singapore.

She was due to play the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jarkata, Indonesia on June 3 but was forced to cancel the concert after police refused her a permit following protests by Islamic extremists.

That must chafe a bit! Lady Gaga struts her stuff in a tight leather playsuit as she films the video for new single Marry The Night

By Georgina Littlejohn

Leather Gaga: The singer was snapped filming the video for her new single Marry The Night in a strapless leather play suit in Harlem last night

In her new single she sings about throwing on some leather and going out and cruising the streets of New York.

And that's exactly what Lady Gaga decided to do as she filmed the video for her new song Marry The Night.

However, even though this is a woman who is not one to shy away from adoring herself in latex, we suspect that her choice of dancing attire may leave her feeling a little sore.

Put your paws up: Gaga throws her hands in the air as she struts her stuff

The singer was snapped strutting her stuff on the streets of New York last night in a tight leather playsuit.

The energetic dance routines, reminiscent of Michael Jackson's Thriller routine, could have left the Born This Way star feeling a little bit hot and sticky even with her resistance to chafing material.

Not that she looked as though she'd broken a sweat as she joined her backing dancers in Harlem to shoot scenes for the video.

Killer heels: Gaga, sporting a cut on her knee, manages to keep her balance on her stilettos as she throws her arms out

Working it: She has admitted to not being the greatest dancer but Gaga looked more than comfortable in front of the cameras as she performed her routine

Her hair cropped short and bleached blonde, she teamed the leather playsuit with stiletto heels which she effortlessly danced on in the middle of the road.

Pouting in her blue lipstick, she was seen crouching on the floor and being lifted in the air by one of her male dancers.

Marry The Night is the fifth single from her second album Born This Way and is due for release next month.

Meanwhile, the singer will be celebrating today after she won an injunction at London's High Court to stop animated character Lady Goo Goo from releasing a single.

The character is a baby with a long blonde fringe from the Moshi Monsters online game, which is owned by UK firm Mind Candy.

It released The Moshi Dance on YouTube - which has since been taken down - and its full release has been stopped by Gaga.

The injunction ruled that Mind Candy could not promote, advertise, sell, distribute or make the Moshi Dance available to the public.

It was also prevented from doing the same with 'any musical work or video which purports to be performed by a character by the name of Lady Goo Goo, or which otherwise uses the name Lady Goo Goo or any variant thereon'.

Mind Candy said in a statement the ruling was 'a huge disappointment' and added that it was 'pretty obvious that kids will be able to tell the difference between the two characters'.

Powder puff girl! Lady Gaga sports huge netting 'powder puff' hat as she announces she's opening the MTV VMAs

By JODY THOMPSON

What a frill: Lady Gaga greets the crowd from the MTV studios in New York's Times Square wearing a huge white frilled netting hat

Lady Gaga left her dressed-down beach days of earlier this week far behind when she got back to work to appear on MTV in the U.S. yesterday.

The 25-year-old star rocked up to the station's New York studios in her more usual out-there attire, wearing a titanic white titfer that looked like a enormous powder puff and matching white lace dress with angular hips and netting sleeves.

Shady lady: The star waved at the the crowd watching her outside through the glass windows of the studio

She was on the station to talk about her new video You And I - as well as to announce that she would be opening the stations Video Music Awards, or VMAs, on 28 August.

Writing on her Twitter last night, she said: 'Thank you little monsters for making this week so memorable.'

Lacey lady: The grinning star lay down on stage and gave a regal wave at one point

She continued: 'I am so excited to be OPENING THE VMA'S this year. Pinch myself everyday. Pinch myself everyday. So happy you love the new video too! What a week! #Monster4Life.'

However, on last night's show, Gaga didn't reveal exactly what she has planned for her grand opening set at the bash at the Los Angeles Nokia Theatre.

The singer's plans to top that show - and the designs for what she'll be wearing - will remain shrouded in secrecy until the event.

Cover up: The star kept the powder puff hat on but changed into a black velvet dress to go to the NYC Roseland Ballroom afterwards

Creating a buzz: Lady Gaga cuts a waspish figure in a black and yellow dress as she leaves her LA home

By GEORGINA LITTLEJOHN

Waspish: Lady Gaga steps out in yet another elegant dress as she showed off a black and yellow frock as she left her Los Angeles home

She might be toning down her outlandish and outrageous wardrobe but Lady Gaga is definitely not going to be headed for the knitted twin sets just yet.

Because while she may have ditched the rubber and meat and Kermit the frogs - for now - she is still making sure that she stands out from the crowd.

The singer looked very glamorous and elegant yesterday as she left her Los Angeles home in a yellow and white snakeskin dress.

That didn't last long... The illusion is shattered as Lady Gaga reveals punk platform boots under elegant dress

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

These boots aren't made for walking: Lady Gaga leaves her LA studio and reveals chunky, punk-style boots underneath her elegant dress last night

She had us going there for a minute.

It looked as though Lady Gaga had decided to eschew the wacky - and increasingly tiresome - outfits, for good.

For two days in L.A, the blonde New Yorker had chosen classic dresses, first a classic Versace and second up, a pastiche of Audrey Hepburn's iconic ensemble from 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Tired but still rocking it: Gaga retires to her Rolls Royce after a hard day, her beehive and earrings from earlier are gone

But last night as she left a recording studio in the early hours, the 25-year-old pop superstar revealed she's still got an edge.

Admittedly there were no fangs, prosthetic shoulders or horns, but the lady is not for turning... into a 'normal' celebrity.

Ten hours after disappearing into the studio, the Born This Way star emerged looked a little dishevelled.

The Hepburn homage had unravelled slightly, with the beehive loosened over the course of the session, and the large vintage earrings she modelled earlier had been removed.

Travelling in style: Gaga's Rolls Royce waits for her on Melrose Avenue

However the big reveal came when she lifted the skirt of her classic dress to reveal a diaphanous skirt over punky lace-up platforms.

And they were huge, definitely too big to walk in for very far, but happily Gaga had a matching Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, waiting for her on the sidewalk.

It was always going to be the ultimate gimmick for the eccentric Lady Gaga.

With every visceral taboo broken, from meat dress to climbing inside a womb to feigning labour on stage, the legend had nowhere to go.

Except, of course, to the one area that no-one would ever expect, that of chic normality.

Is Lady Gaga going straight? Singer ditches the wacky attire for the second day at LA studio

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Classic: Lady Gaga looked demure and timeless for the second day in a tow as she arrived at her LA recording studio earlier

It was always going to be the ultimate gimmick for the eccentric Lady Gaga.

With every visceral taboo broken, from meat dress to climbing inside a womb to feigning labour on stage, the 25-year-old had nowhere to do.

Except, of course, to the one area that no-one would ever expect, that of chic normality.

Audrey Hepburn: Today's outfir evoked Audrey Hepburn's iconic look in Breakfast at Tiffany's

And for the second day in LA, as she arrived at a recording studio, she did just that.

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, donned an elegant long black dress that clung to her dainty frame in all the right places.

With a beehive that evoked a blonde Audrey Heburn, the whole outfit was very Breakfast at Tiffany's, down to the large diamanté earrings.

Who's that girl? Lady Gaga is almost unrecognisable as she leaves a recording studio in a glamorous and normal - for her anyway - outfit by Versace

We're so used to seeing Lady Gaga step out in something original and outrageous that we almost didn't recognise her yesterday.

But it seems like the new elegant New Yorker may be here to stay.

Yesterday Gaga looked sophisticated and very high gloss in a straight black Versace dress with a stunning yellow flower pattern down one side.

Is that really you? Lady Gaga ditches the rubber and horns for sophisticated black dress and sleek glossy hair

By GEORGINA LITTLEJOHN

Who's that girl? Lady Gaga is almost unrecognisable as she leaves a recording studio in a glamorous and normal - for her anyway - outfit

We're so used to seeing Lady Gaga step out in something original and outrageous that we almost didn't recognise her.

The colourful pop star certainly didn't look like her usual wacky self as she left a recording studio yesterday.

Gaga looked sophisticated and very high gloss in a straight black dress with a stunning yellow flower pattern down one side.

Flashing a bit of leg: The side split on her dress showed off the singer's lovely pins

She wore towering back heels, a gold cuff and a tiny black clutch bag as she headed home from the studio.

Her long blonde looked shiny and sleek and was swept elegantly down her right shoulder as she gracefully tottered to her car.

Gone were her 'facial horns', the rubber additions and there's was not a trace of a rump steak anywhere.

Keeping it simple: Gaga ditched the wackiness and rubber clothes for a sophisticated look

It was such a far cry from her normal weird and bizarre wardrobe that she usually steps out in that she almost went unnoticed.

And in fact, she probably wouldn't have looked out of place on a night out with The Only Way Is Essex girls.

One thing's for sure, she looked stunning, elegant and absolutely gorgeous as she smiled demurely at the cameras as she made her way to her car.

Yes, it's really me: Gaga flashes a smile for the cameras as she head home from the studio

'I couldn't speak for 48 hours': Lady Gaga reveals her devastation after learning of Amy Winehouse's death

By SARAH FITZMAURICE

I couldn't speak: Lady Gaga reveals how devastated she was when she heard about Amy Winehouse passing away

Lady Gaga has revealed she was so devastated by Amy Winehouse’s death she couldn’t speak for 48 hours.

The Judas singer appeared on The View chat show, which aired in the U.S. earlier today, and spoke of her grief, even though she never met the Back To Black singer.

She told the panel: ‘I am just so devastated and so sad and I really could not speak for 48 hours straight I was in such shock.’

'Most lovely and kind': Lady Gaga revealed how much she loved Amy, despite never meeting her, as she appeared on The View chat show

Lady Gaga then went on to explain how a lesson should be learnt from the death of the singer, who she described as ‘the most lovely and nice and kind woman’.

She told the ladies of the ABC panel: ‘I think the most unfortunate thing about it all is the way that the media spins things, like we can learn from Amy's death.

‘I don't feel that Amy needed to learn any lessons. I felt that the lesson was for the world to be kinder to the superstar.’

Black and white: The 25-year-old singer donned a dogtooth patterned outfit for her interview on The View where she gave some frank responses and spoke about Amy Winehouse

‘Everybody was so hard on her, and everything that I knew about her was that she was the most lovely and nice and kind woman.’

The outspoken singer also said: ‘You know, you can't have it both ways. You can't enjoy listening to someone sing sad songs about the blues and heartbreak and then not expect them to be truly heartbroken.’

Lady Gaga, who is currently on a promotional tour for her new single, spoke about Amy just last week on Omaha 94.1 Radio during an interview where she revealed she was often mistaken for the soul singer before she herself found fame.

Drug problem: The panel discussed the Back to Black singer's battle with drugs and Lady Gaga spoke out about how she managed to quit hard drugs

After hearing the news of Amy’s death Lady Gaga took to Twitter and posted: ‘Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.’

Take it away: Lady Gaga jumped on the piano and started singing to the audience and talk show hosts

Gaga, who has admitted to using hard drugs in the past, said she no longer did drugs apart from being an occasional user of marijuana saying ‘I am a little bit part of the green club’.

She explained how she stopped using hard drugs when her father called her out.

She said: ‘My dad was like, “I know what you're doing, and just so you know, I did it and I lost every friend and everything that I ever had while I did it.” He shared with me his life story and his struggle, so that was what ultimately changed my life. Honestly it was the best thing that happened. I never went back.’
