Megawatt smile! Girls Aloud's Nicola Robert's toothy grin gets a glamorous Hollywood makeover

By Jody Thompson and Donna Mcconnell

Molar makeover: Nicola Roberts has had a dramatic makeover revealing a set of pearly white veneers at an event in London

She once confessed to feeling like the 'ugly one' out of Girls Aloud - and it appears that her lack of confidence may have spurred Nicola Roberts to take action.

The 25-year-old red-headed beauty has reportedly spent £100,000 on an image revamp. But it's her toothy grin which has undergone the most dramatic change.

Nicola was seen at an event recently smiling broadly, revealing a revamped set of pearly white veneers, taking her previous toothy grin to a brilliant Hollywood smile.

And with freshly darkened eyebrows, hair extensions, and a suspiciously plumper lip, it appears the singer is keen to give her look an upgrade like her bandmate and friend Cheryl Cole.

The petite star has also apparently blown £90,000 over the past year alone on her couture wardrobe, including outfits from Chanel and Vivienne Westwood.

It's thought that Nicola has had her dramatic style revamp ahead of launching her solo career this year.

A source told Now! magazine: 'Last year she wore invisible braces...getting veneers was a long-term solution. Cheryl Cole recommended it.'

The singer is said to have signed a major label deal and has already recorded the majority of the tracks for her debut album.

Whispers are that Nicola has gone in a more 'indie rock' direction for her debut material but there's no official word yet on when anything is being released.

All of Nicola's Girls Aloud bandmates have attempted solo careers, with differing degrees of success.

Cheryl Cole has been the most successful, but at the other end of the spectrum, 25-year-old Nadine Coyle's debut solo album 'Insatiable' completely bombed when it was released last year, not even making the UK Top 40.

Kimberley Walsh, 29, meanwhile has only released one collaboration, appearing on rapper Aggro Santos' single 'Like U Like' which was a Number Eight hit in January.

She's mostly stuck to her burgeoning career as a television presenter, and Sarah Harding, 29, has embarked on an acting career - appearing in St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold.

However, she confirmed last year that she's set to launch a solo music career too.

The recently-engaged star said: 'I haven't completely settled on what kind of music I'm going to make yet, but would like it to be something like Lady Gaga.'
