But with Chantelle Houghton seven months pregnant and planning to wed fiance Alex Reid, it appeared they had put their turmoils behind them.
It seems, however, that is not the case as Chantelle has been left devastated after learning Alex has been sending private messages to another female on Twitter.
And it's not just any other lady - he's allegedly been contacting Amy Willerton, who won his ex-wife Katie Price's TV model show.
After learning about the messages, Chantelle was reportedly left in floods of tears as she demanded to know what was going on with the 19-year-old.
A source tells The People newspaper: 'She's extremely upset. She's in tears. This is a horrible situation for her. She wants to know what the hell is going on.'
...Amy was a winner on Alex's former wife Katie Price's model show Signed By KatieAlex, 36, reportedly started following Amy on the social networking site, before messaging her and ending the note with a kiss mark.
The teenager rose to fame after appearing on Alex's former wife's programme Signed By Katie.
His representative has confirmed to the publication that he did message the Bristol teen, but they're adamant it was harmless.
The spokesperson said: 'Alex has thousands of followers on Twitter and is asked to follow lots of people. Any private message to Amy was entirely innocent.'
All smiles: Chantelle and Alex, who are expecting their first baby in the next two months, seemed happy as they looked at wedding dresses last monthBut Chantelle appeared upset when she emerged at her home in Brentwood, Essex yesterday, where there was no visible sign of her soon-to-be husband.
The source added: 'This seems to have really left Chantelle very upset indeed. The pair of them now need to sit down and try and work things out.'
It was only a fortnight ago that Chantelle and Alex were spotted looking loved up and happy at a wedding show.
The pair fooled around as they took a look at wedding dresses for their upcoming nuptials, while Chantelle looked heavily pregnant.Chantelle started dating the former Mr Price last year after she split from TV presenter Rav Wilding.
They quickly declared their love for each other, before Alex proposed on live TV and she fell pregnant within months.
And they were both ecstatic at the news after Chantelle was told she wouldn't be able to conceive naturally.
They have both appeared happy since getting together, but this latest news would have been a blow for the former Celebrity Big Brother winner.
Amy has only recently shot to fame and last week Katie was forced to fight back at claims made by the teenager that she had failed to fulfill her promises.
BlackSheep Management - run by Price's manager Andrew Antonio and her brother Daniel - put out a statement on Price's official blog after the teenager sold her story to a Sunday newspaper, accusing the reality star and the firm of failing her.
The company praised Willerton as 'beautiful and bright', but said her refusal to work with them on an exclusive basis - as mentioned on the Signed By Katie Price show - hampered their vision for her long-term career.
No comment has yet been made from Chantelle or Amy's representatives over the alleged messages.
