She described designing her own shoe range as a dream come true.
But it seems the dream has now turned into a bit of a nightmare for Cheryl Cole.
Several shoppers who bought the singer's 'signature' pair of black studded high heels have had to return them after discovering a fault.
Signature style: Some pairs of The 'Your Royal Hotness' shoe in Midnight Noir have been described as 'faulty' by Stylistpick.com
Stylistpick, the brand Cheryl collaborated with on the range, was made aware of the issue and received numerous complaints, forcing the company to send out an email.
Customers were warned to check their shoes and told the stitching on the rear 'could become unattached'.
One disgruntled shopper described the £79.90 Your Royal Hotness in Midnight Noir style as 'awful' after the fabric on the heel peeled away.
Sheena Smith told The Sun: 'I love Cheryl Cole's style and thought the shoes looked fantastic on the website.
'When I got them, there was immediately a problem with the heel.
'The packaging was fantastic but the quality of the shoes was awful. I was really disappointed I couldn't wear them to my work Christmas party.'
The blunder will no doubt cause extra embarrassment for Cheryl, who described the pump as her favourite.
Cheryl, 28, said: 'This is my signature shoe, so it had to represent me – it's
girly but glam, all at the same time.'
The former X Factor judge's capsule shoe collection was unveiled this month.
The collection forms part of a wide collaboration between Cheryl and Stylistpick, which will see her choosing her favourite pieces from the retailer's monthly mainline collections and sharing style insights.
Blunder: Cheryl designed the capsule collection of eight styles
Stylistpick operations director Savina Barnes said: 'Our customers come first at Stylistpick.
'Once we identified that there was potentially an issue with one of the shoes in the Stylistpick collection we re-checked all the shoes in our warehouse and contacted customers who had purchased the shoes to advise them and let them know that if they did have an issue to return the shoes for a refund or exchange.'
'In terms of the "peeling heel", we are only aware of one instance of this.'
