I'm sincerely sorry: Kelly Osbourne has apologised for offensive comments she made three weeks ago
Kelly Osbourne has pleaded ignorance to the transgender community in defence of her offensive comments earlier this month.
The 27-year-old made cutting remarks about her ex-fiance Luke Worrall and transgender model Elle Schneider.
Worrall and Schneider had an affair and when Kelly found out about it she blasted her ex publicly in an interview with Glamour magazine.
Kelly claims that she was absolutely humiliated when she had to tell her parents Ozzy and Sharon that the love of her life had reportedly cheated with Elle Schneider, who is awaiting gender reassignment surgery.
She said: 'Having to tell them my fiance had cheated on me with a tranny who sold his/her story to the press [was the most uncomfortable moment]. It was so humiliating.'
She added to the magazine: 'Everyone kept telling me that Luke was cheating on me, but I never believed them. It's hard enough to get your head around someone cheating on you, but when someone is a chick with a d**k?
'Up until then, I'd always thought that the worst way to get cheated on would be with an ugly girl. Don't you think?'

The singer then came under fire from the LGBT community for her choice of words to describe transgender model Elle.
Kelly today offered a sincere apology to GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which said: 'As a lifelong LGBT ally and friend, I feel it is my duty to not only apologize for my wrong but to also correct it.'
She continued: 'The word tr*nny is a derogatory and hurtful word. I was completely ignorant to this and soon came to realize most of my peers and LGBT friends are too. This is a word I will no longer use or allow.

'Transgender people are some of the bravest people on Earth and among the LGBT community. I cannot imagine the courage it takes to live your life openly and honestly, reflecting who you truly are, or the hurt that comes from having to hide who you are because others may not support and accept you.'
She ended the letter with: 'My sincerest apologies to any ally or member of the LGBT community whom I have hurt or offended.'
Marti Abernathey, creator of Transadvocate.com, posted an article titled Kelly Osbourne's Transphobic Rant: Humiliated by Chicks With Dicks and Trannys after the stars initial comments.
However, he appears to have forgiven her and today told GLAAD: 'With this post Kelly has proven she is a responsible ally to the transgender community. She made a mistake that was borne of ignorance, not malice.'
He added: 'She's turned a mistake into a teachable moment. That is what an ally does. Thank you Kelly!'
