Leggy lady! Princess Beatrice's short hemline shows off the results of all those marathons

By Andrea Magrath

Leggy: Princess Beatrice was pictured leaving Ronnie Scotts jazz club in Soho last night following a private performance by Tony Bennett

Princess Beatrice gave onlookers an eyeful by showing off her toned legs during a night on the town with boyfriend Dave Clark.

The couple were part of a select group privileged to hear iconic crooner Tony Bennett perform at Ronnie Scotts jazz club in London last night.

The set was far more exclusive than the singer's one the previous night at the London Palladium.

Beatrice, 23, dressed up for the occasion in a black satin mini dress that clung to her curves.

She cinched the frock in at the waist with a belt and added a matching jacket with elaborate frills.

Her short hemline drew plenty of attention to the young royal's toned legs, the result of her participation in marathons and a regular exercise regime.

Date night: Beatrice was accompanied by long-time boyfriend Dave Clark

Beatrice's boyfriend of five years Dave Clark gripped her hand protectively as they made their way out of the famous nightspot to their cab.

The 29-year-old Virgin employee looked sharp in his set as the couple chatted in the back of the car as they sped off.

Beatrice will still be on a high after completing her university studies a few weeks ago.

She was awarded a 2:1 in history and history of ideas from Goldsmiths College.

Prince Andrew and her mother Sarah Ferguson were there to proudly support Beatrice on her graduation at the end of September.

Rather than throw herself directly into full-time employment, Beatrice will instead undertake a number of internships to 'broaden her knowledge and experience to complement her position as a member of the royal family', Buckingham Palace revealed yesterday.

Graduate: The young royal recently completed her studies at Goldsmiths, gaining a 2:1

Over the next few months, she will take up a series of work experience placements at organisations with links to business and philanthropy. She will also continue her work with Children in Crisis, the charity set up by her mother, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman added: 'She will look to progress this work into other relevant areas.'

Officials insist that Beatrice will eventually look for full-time employment – but they are unable to put a timescale on her plans.

Long term: Dave and Beatrice have been dating for five years and are rumoured to be looking to plan their future together
