It's a no Tulisa! Miss Contostavlos fails to bring the X Factor in bizarre dress at high-fashion event

Ill-advised: X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos arriving for Vogue's Fashion's Night Out Party, at Asprey on New Bond Street

Her closet has been given an overhaul by X Factor bosses, transforming her style from street to chic.

But Tulisa Contostavlos appears to have been ill-advised in her choice of attire for Vogue's Fashion Night Out in London.

The 23-year-old donned a bizarre matching top and skirt, baring her midriff as she strutted around New Bond Street last night.

The bronze and black combination did nothing to flatter her figure, with the skirt clinching at her waist but flaring around her thighs.

The strapless top showed off her unicorn tattoo, which she had inked lat year, on her right shoulder.

The creation was by designer Yong, which was seen worn by The Saturdays beauties Mollie King and Una Healy at the GQ Man of the Year Awards on Tuesday night.

Her hair looked smooth and shiny in a sleek ponytail.

The N-Dubz singer looked happy as she stopped for pictures outside the Asprey and Coach store.

But Tulisa revealed yesterday she wasn't a shopholic and was far more interested in grocery shopping.

She said on Twitter she had made a late-night dash to the supermarket.

'I know I mostly tweet about food so don't start! Its always the most exciting part of my day so I like 2 share it ; )

'So I went to tesco's 2 buy a snack, walked out with 150 quids worth of shopping, n bought absolute crap!...I got excited ☹

'I do this all the time, I don't even have a tesco's club card, if I did my points would b ridiculous

'Take me clothes shopping I'm like yeah cool its alright, take me 2 tesco's & I'm like a kid in a sweet shop running around with my trolley.'

Tulisa joined a host of models and celebrities at the event including Gwyneth Paltow, Daisy Lowe, Peaches and Pixie Geldof, Simon Webbe and Jodie Kidd.

David Cameron's wife Samantha was also there.

She donned a white shirt, tucked into a floral skirt with her black hair pulled into a bun piled on top of her gead.

She opted for leg-extending nude heels.

British models Olivia Inge, a descendant of the prime minister William Gladstone, and Jade Parfitt didn't need any towering heels to add height to their tall-frames.

Jade opted for ballet flats with a sleek black dress while Olivia had slight heels on her sparkly peep-toe shoes which mathed her silver dress.
