Orange aplenty: TOWIE's Lauren Goodger and Lucy Mecklenburgh have Oompa Loompa fake tan-off on night out

With fake tans this deep it could only mean one thing – It was Saturday night in Essex.

The Only Way Is Essex crew had a night out in Brentwood and made sure to put their spray guns into overdrive before leaving the house.

Lauren Goodger, her nemesis Lucy Mecklenburgh and Sam Faiers’ sister Billy headed out with a flurry of friends, who all appeared to be sporting the same hearty tan.


The spring heat wave must have had the girls overexcited and thought it called for an extra layer of orange before Lucy and Billy headed to The Slug and Lettuce in Brentwood.

But even though Lauren was across town in London's Mayfair, she still brought a bit of Essex to the capital with her tan.

One of Lucy’s friends seemed to have chosen blood orange, while the others stuck to the show’s trademark Oompa Loompa hue.

Lucy strolled down the street with a pout across her face which looked like she meant business.

Perhaps she was getting ready for a fake tan-off with her arch rival Lauren, who was also strutting around in heels and a white dress to accentuate her bronzed legs.

The 23-year-old’s complexion may have been partly real though, as she recently arrived back in Essex following a beach holiday in Lanzarote.

Miss Goodger, who is engaged to Mark Wright, was snapped in a tiny bikini of the Spanish island while working on her tan.

Lauren recently revealed that she hired a personal trainer in an effort to shift a few pounds and get down to ten stone during the show’s last season.

‘I’m one of those people who loses weight quickly, but puts it on just as quickly. If I train and eat healthily you can notice, and if I drink and eat rubbish you can notice,’ she told Closer magazine.

Goodger is an expert in fake tanning and has created her own product called Lauren’s Way.

Her range offers a self-tanning bronzing mouse and a lotion, which can be bought on her Facebook page.

Meanwhile, her fiancé’s ex-girlfriend Lucy and Billy Faiers both stepped out in blue mini-dresses with plunging necklines last night, to show off their cleavage.

And their friends seemed to be lapping up the attention from photographers, perhaps hoping they might get a guest spot on the hit ITV2 reality show.
