All the fun of the Britain's Got Talent fair rolls into town for a new series

Playing with fire: Pyromaniac duo Legends of Medieval will be hoping for a flaming good show


There may be a new judging panel but it seems the acts remain weird, wonderful and at times downright terrible.

Britain’s Got Talent returns this week and is more bizarre than ever.

Acts include a pink-haired drag Queen with a love of Shirley Bassey known as Barbie Buckfast, performing horses, a professional ‘regurgitator’, and a medieval stunt troupe.

The audience was left in shock when Miss Buckfast - real name George Lyall - appeared on stage in a bright-blue sequined mini-dress, stillettos and a pink wig and belted out Bassey’s hits.

Similarly, family act Stallions of Substance, drew cheers from the crowd for their routine, which saw a motorbike leap over the horses and daredevil stunts.

A ‘professional regurgitator’ who eats fish and chips only to bring it back up through his nasal cavity will also feature in the new series, while Legends of Medieval Stunt hope to re-ignite Britain’s love affair with jousting and flame-throwing.

Viewers will also see new Irish dancing group Celtic Feet, billed as this decade’s answer to Riverdance, aspiring opera singer Pippa Langhorne perform with her Lhasa Apso puppy Buddy, and African dance troupe the Cultural Group.

But it is an obese tribute group who are tipped to become the success story of the competition.

Take Fat, whose combined weight is in excess of 80 stone, stole the show at their Birmingham auditions with their unique adaptation of Take That’s style, music, and routines.

Simon Cowell does not feature in the auditions phase episodes because of his tight work schedule and plan to launch The X Factor in the U.S.

Piers Morgan also left the show to concentrate on his career in America – this year comedian Michael McIntyre and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff are on the panel alongside Amanda Holden.

Co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said the show had a “different feel this year” because of the new judging panel.

Mr Donnelly revealed: ‘We’ve had lots more pole dancers, dog acts, comics and magicians this year. There’s been lots of very talented singing children this year, so that will be quite a competitive area.’

McIntyre has already run into hot water after reducing a nine-year-old boy to tears.

The comedian appeared to be stepping into the 'Mr Nasty' role left vacant by Cowell, after pressing the buzzer when schoolboy David Knight – who hoped to win over judges and the audience with his stand-up routine – told him McIntyre that Harry Hill was his favourite funny man.
