Hidden talent: Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester sings Summer Girl in a clip from new film Country Strong
She's best known as Gossip Girl's uptight queen bee Blair Waldorf.
But Leighton Meester has revealed a hidden talent that Blair would be amazed at - as a talented country singer.
The actress, 24, plays a beauty queen-turned-singer in the drama, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow as a fallen country singer.

A new trailer shows Leighton singing Summer Girl, a track originally performed by Jessica Andrews in 2005.
It's one of two songs the actress contributes to the movie.
The other, Words I Couldn't Say, appears on the soundtrack.
The movie opens Wednesday in limited release and will expand to more screens across the U.S. on January 7.

This isn't Leighton's first brush with the music business.
In April last year, she signed a recording contract with Universal Republic Records, and is scheduled to release the solo album Love Is A Drug sometime next year.
Leighton's first single, Somebody To Love, came out last year and features R&B singer Robin Thicke.

She was also featured in American pop punk group Cobra Starship's song and music video Good Girls Go Bad, which reached the Top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 music chart.

She has appeared in advertisements for Clearasil, Reebok and Herbal Essence hair products.
