Breaking away from her usual style: Victoria Beckham chose a vest with spaghetti straps to debut her new shorter hairstyle as she went shopping arounf Melrose Blvd in West Hollywood

When she stepped out yesterday, fans were quick to spot Victoria Beckham's newly cropped hair.

The designer, 37, enhanced her shorter locks by wearing a skin-baring loose vest with spaghetti straps.

Earlier, Mrs Beckham showed fans just how much she had lopped off by tweeting a picture of her discarded hair on the floor at the hair salon.

Posting the picture of a bundle of hair being swept up, Victoria wrote: 'Chopped it off!'

The tousled, shoulder-length style was created by her friend and celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves. Paves, who is also responsible for Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson's hair, replied over Twitter.

He added: 'Oh yes we did! That's sure is a lot of hair on the floor!'

Not wanting to waste her new 'do at home, Victoria hit west Hollywood for a sport of shopping.

Her black top showed off her slender arms and the fitted flared jeans she paired it with accentuated her endless slim legs. She added her usual massive glasses and a black bag with a gold chain strap.

It was a day off from her family today as Victoria shopped around the infamous Melrose Boulevard.

Short stuff: Victoria's hair has lost a few inches since earlier this week

Victoria this week revealed exactly how she managed to snap back into shape so quickly after welcoming her daughter Harper.

She credited running for her amazing transformation.

The 37-year-old told Vogue US that after giving birth to Harper Seven in July last year she began a fitness regime which involved running six times a week.

She explained: ‘I worked out a lot. I ran a lot. I did it six days a week. I become quite obsessive when I get into something.’

As well as running, the mother-of-four stuck to a strenuous exercise regime under the guidance of celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, whose clients include Gwyneth Paltrow, Cheryl Cole and Madonna.

Given Victoria’s passion for gargantuan heels it is hard to imagine the fashionista in trainers hitting the treadmill.

Of course, she would have had to wait six weeks after delivering Harper via caesarean section before exercising.

She also suffered a slipped disc in her back in August when Harper was just a few weeks old.

Although already looking trim during New York Fashion Week last September, by the time she returned to the Big Apple for a fashion conference in November, she was back to her usual super-svelte self.

Victoria also revealed how she elongates her frame with her designs, which consist of figure-hugging material and flattering cuts.

This trick will no doubt have helped her achieve the svelte look she showed off in New York last year.

The 5ft 4in star told the magazine: ‘I’ve never been a six-foot-tall, skinny model, so therefore I wanted to create an illusion. People think I’m taller than I am - not because of the shoes I wear but because of the way I dress. It’s all relatively streamlined.

It’s no surprise that new mother Beyoncé stepped out showing off her tiny waist and flat stomach in a Victoria Beckham design earlier this week.

Just like Victoria did last year, the singer decided to wow fans with her amazing post-baby body just two months after giving birth in one of Beckham’s form-fitting dresses.

Speaking about her signature style which Victoria labels her ‘sucky-sucky’ dress she notes: ‘It gives (my customers) a little waist. It’s great on the boobs, it’s great on the bottom.’

As well as revealing her workout and design secrets Victoria admits that despite being part of the one of the biggest girl bands in the world - she didn't think she was particularly talented.

Speaking of her confidence with designing she said: ‘I worked very hard, but it took a long time for me to find something to say, "Oh, I’m not bad at this." And I’ve found that with what I’m doing now.’

In the interview Victoria also reveals how she juggles being a businesswoman with being a mother to Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, seven, as well as eight-month-old Harper.

She noted: 'I'll work early in the morning and then I'll work late at night but once England and New York go to bed, I have a little bit of time here. David and I make sure our schedules revolve around the kids. Because we are really focused on what we do workwise it allows us to be balanced.

Last weekend the whole Beckham brood enjoyed lunch together in Santa Monica - but snaps of the six-member strong family are rare given their busy schedules.

But while the whole gang might not be seen all together so much in public, Victoria revealed that at home they all climb into bed together and she said: 'They cuddle up like little peas in a pod.'

While the family are happily settled in Los Angeles with David turning down a position at a football club in Paris because the children are so happy there, Victoria showed off her British roots last night.

The star got busy in the kitchen to prepare food for her sons Romeo and Cruz's International Food Day at school.

After tweeting a picture of Union Jack stickers and flags, Victoria later shared a shot of the impressive spread she had sorted for the occasion.

Culinary delights including pork pies, sausage rolls and cheese and pineapple on sticks sat in three large foil trays with Union Jack flags on cocktail sticks in each item.

The trays were surrounded by sweets wrapped in patriotic paper, as well as a cute toy dog wearing a Union Jack cape.

Victoria accompanied the shot with the caption: 'Just finished cooking! Very proud to be British!! X vb.'
