American Idol's Hayley Reinhart steals the show as Casey Abrams proves why he deserved to be saved in Elton John night

By Sophie Forbes

-Haley Reinhart wowed the crowd and was the judges clear favourite
-Casey Abrams proved why he deserved to be saved
-Tomorrow two contestants get eliminated

Star turn: Hayley Reinhart delivered the best performance of the night with her version of Bennie And The Jets as the Idol contestants took on the songs of Elton John

American Idol is now down to the top 11 contestants, but despite things becoming increasingly competitive not one person performed badly on this week's show.

However there was one performance that did stand out from the crowd last night as the hopefuls took on the hits of legendary singer-songwriter Elton John.

Hayley Reinhart wowed the judges with her rendition of Bennie And The Jets in a week where the contestants are under added pressure due to a double elimination on tomorrow's show.

The 20-year-old started her performance lounging on the top of a grand piano and looked gorgeous in a sparkling silver dress.

'That was it, Haley!' exclaimed Jennifer Lopez after her sultry performance.

'The poise, the moves, the confidence. You felt every place you were going...It was amazing,' Lopez raved.

'Best performance of the night right there!' Randy Jackson said excitedly while Steven Tyler backed him up saying, 'You. Sing. Sexy.'

Worth saving: Casey Abrams proved why he should still be on the show with Your Song

Still singing ballads: Pia Toscano stuck to her guns and sang Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Only today it was revealed that Hayley has become very close to another of her competitors - California's own Casey Abrams, 20, who last week got saved by the judges with their one save of the season after he was voted off in the public ballot.

Casey performed a version of Your Song and proved exactly why he deserved to be kept in the competition.

'One decision I didn't lose an ounce of sleep over was saving you,' Jennifer Lopez told him after his performance.

Big song: Lauren Alaina took on the challenge of Candle In The Wind and did an amazing job

Sticking to what you know: Scotty McCreery chose the only Elton John song with a country feel and chose Country Comfort

Pia Toscano also impressed the judges, despite choosing another ballad after being told last week to try some variation.

The brunette beauty picked Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me and powered her way through the song with not one bad note.

All the judges were impressed with Jennifer telling her the song took her to 'an otherworldly place' and they even began to argue amongst themselves about stopping her from singing ballads in the future.

Took their advice: Stefano Langone made much more contact with the audience and even flirted with Jennifer during his rendition of Tiny Dancer

Rocker: James Durbin bounced around the stage while blazing through Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting

Lauren Alaina also chose a ballad - the record breaking song Candle In The Wind - which she sang beautifully, putting a country sounding edge on the famous track.

'That is one of the greatest Lauren Alaina performances on the stage ever,' Randy told her with Steven telling her it was 'beautiful.'

'That was amazing. You sounded gorgeous,' Jennifer added. 'That was it baby, that was it.'

Fan favourite Scotty McCreery got to kick off the show with his version of, unsurprisingly, Country Comfort.

The young 17-year-old maintained his consistently good level of performance and nailed the song, receiving a standing ovation and great comments from all three judges.

The shows Casanova Stefano Langone, took note of the judges previous comments regarding his interaction with the audience and even approached Jennifer during his performance of Tiny Dancer and held her hand as he sang.

Not great: Thia Megia version of Daniel was underwhelming but not terrible

Sorry: Jacob Lusk showed his range with Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word but didn't hit the spot

James Durbin also worked the crowd as he stomped his way round the stage singing Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting.

All three of the judges voiced how much they love his energy on stage with Randy telling him: 'You look like you are enjoying yourself and that's what matters.'

The more underwhelming performances of the night included Thia Megia's rendition of Daniel which none of the judges were overly happy with.

Not bad: Paul McDonald showed his skills on the guitar as he performed Rocket Man

Worst of the night: Naima Adedapo rearranged I'm Still Standing to a reggae beat but didn't wow the judges

Jacob Lusk performed a heart wrenching version of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word which impressed the crowd but the judges felt was overdone.

Meanwhile Paul McDonald chose Rocket Man, a fast paced pop song which was pitchy, but still got the support of the judges with Randy telling him: 'When you start hitting every note, that's the day I'm not going to like you anymore.'

The riskiest performance of the night was from Naima Adedapo who delivered a reggae inspired interpretation of I'm Still Standing.

The unusual sounding song didn't impress the judges and is likely to land the 26-year-old in the bottom three.

Tomorrow night two contestants will be eliminated and sent home.

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Family affair: Ashton Kutcher tagged along while his ageless wife Demi Moore took her daughter Scout out for a day of pampering over the weekend

Living with four women has obviously had an effect on Ashton Kutcher.

He joined his wife Demi Moore and her daughter Scout out for a day of pampering over the weekend.

The extended family visited the Aurora Foot Spa on Saturday in the up-scale suburb of Beverly Hills, California.

Especially Ashton, who was not his smiling self as he he headed back to the family car with step-daughter Scout.

Chic: Demi wore a pair of black fitted cargo pants and fur lined leather jacket and a long tie-dye scarf for the outing

Sucker Punch star Vanessa Hudgens is slinky and see-through at film's premiere, while her co-stars break into dance

By ANDREA MAGRATH

We like to boogie: The stars of Sucker Punch broke into an impromptu dance on the red carpet at the London premiere of their film tonight

Their film has had an underwhelming reception from critics, so what are girls to do? Dance.

The stars of Sucker Punch shrugged off their bad reviews to have some fun on the red carpet at the London premiere tonight in Leicester Square.

Slinky: Vanessa Hudgens was glamorous in a white backless gown by Alberta Ferretti

While Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish looked on nervously in their glamorous gowns, their carefree co-stars Emily Browning, Jamie Chung and Jena Malone burst into an impromptu boogie.

The colourful group dazzled as they posed together on the red carpet, and didn't let the damp evening wet their spirits as they giggled like schoolgirls together.

High School Musical star Vanessa, 22, went for all-out glamour in a floor-length white gown by Alberta Ferretti.

Vanessa wore her hair up to show off the backless dress to its full advantage, and displayed her new butterfly neck tattoo.

Abbie Cornish, 28, also chose Alberta Ferretti in a coffee-coloured long dress with lace overlay and dazzled in £175,000 worth of Cartier jewels.

Girls just wanna have fun: Actresses Jamie Chung, Jena Malone and Emily Browning got in on the fun, while their co-stars looked on

Jamie Chung stood out in a flirty hot pink Dolce & Gabbana dress and black peep-toe heels.

The film's star, Australian actress Emily Browning, wore a 1920s style Azzaro dress, while entourage star Carla Cugino wore a bright blue Oscar de la Renta frock.

Jena Malone, best known for her roles in Stepmom and Donnie Darko, wore an interesting printed dress with slashes at the neck and hip by Juan Carlos Obando.

The film has been widely panned by critics, with Time Out calling the Zack Snyder-directed fantasy thriller 'confusing and self-defeating.'

Girl Power: Sucker Punch stars (L-R) Jamie Chung, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Carla Cugino, Emily Browning and Vanessa Hudgens pose together on the red carpet

Nevertheless the film's stars say they had a ball filming it, despite being forced to undergo rigorous workouts involving military and martial arts training and strict diets, in order to complete the action sequences in their tiny corsets and leotards.

But Emily Browning, who became a household name in Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events says the girls unwound together with a weekly 'cheat night' from their diets and fitness regime.

'Wednesday nights we would all go out and eat cakes together, or just have a cheat night and get together,' she said on the red carpet tonight. 'But we were hanging out all the time and we would have sing-a-longs. It was lots of fun.'

Girlfriends: Jamie Chung does some solo moves before cuddling up to Jena Malone

Abbie Cornish appeared on U.S. TV show, Jimmy Kimmel Live last week to promote the film and described how she was shooting an action scene when a fellow star came at her with a WW1 rifle with a steel bayonet on the end.

'I ducked it but the timing was off and this steel bayonet comes at my head it hits me on the side of the head,' she said.

Stylish: Abbie Cornish also chose Alberta Ferretti, while Jamie Chung looked gorgeous in a hot pink Dolce & Gabbana frock

Sucker Punch opens in UK cinemas on April 1.

BBC's Sian Williams in 'I'll quit' ultimatum over move to Salford

By Paul Revoir

The BBC is facing huge embarrassment after it emerged TV breakfast host Sian Williams will quit her role instead of moving north with the show.

She has decided not to uproot her family and will remain in London as BBC Breakfast moves to the new state of the art studios in Salford Quays.

The corporation’s plans to move the programme are in crisis with fears that Miss Williams will not be the only one quitting rather than make the move.

Susanna Reid has yet to publicly commit to the relocation and former Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins is also likely to leave the show and there are also question marks about stand-in Louise Minchin.

Last night sources suggested Miss Reid, 40, may end up replacing Miss Williams as the show’s main female presenter.

Of the established presenters Bill Turnbull, 55, is the only one known to have signed-up to the process and staff have until midnight tonight (Weds) to finally decide.

With masses of backroom staff also likely to leave the show the BBC is faced with massive disruption and a complete revamp of one of its most successful shows all in the name of making the corporation less ‘Londoncentric’.

While Miss Williams, 46, has until the end of the day to inform BBC bosses of her plans yesterday sources revealed she has indicated she will not go.

In crisis: Miss Williams departure could prompt exits from other members of the breakfast team

Her agent also effectively confirmed her departure by saying it was ‘not about Salford’ but about a ‘decade of getting up before the dawn chorus’.

He said: ‘We’ve been talking to the BBC for the past six to nine months about potential new roles where she doesn’t need to use her alarm clock quite so frequently.’

BBC News chiefs are now believed to in discussions with her about what new roles might be available for her to take on.

There are also suggestions she could be given a more broad mix of presenting duties which could see her moved onto a show like Crimewatch. Last night there were also rumours that rival channels ITV and Channel 4 could try to poach her.

It is understood Mr Turnbull decided to move with the show ‘through gritted teeth’ and has also expressed reservations about the wisdom of the move.

The BBC had tried desperately to keep mother of four Miss Williams, 46, on the show as her and Mr Turnbull have struck up a popular presenting partnership on the programme.

There is still an outside chance as a last minute compromise she could agree to present the show for a very limited period from Salford when it moves next year.
But long term her career on the show is coming to an end.

Miss Williams has long voiced concerns about moving BBC Breakfast to the MediaCityUK site in Salford – warning last year that family considerations would take priority.

She said at the time: ‘If I had no ties it would be a much easier decision to make....There are lots of people to consult before I make up my mind.

‘It's a great patch with great people and I'd head back in an instant. I have four children to consider in this though - one of whom is likely to be in the middle of A-levels during the move. My father, recently widowed, lives in the south east.'

The presenter has two sons with her first husband Neale Hunt. She married former BBC producer Paul Woolwich in 2006 and has a son and daughter with him.

Her on-screen colleagues have also raised concerns about the move, which was sprung on BBC Breakfast staff after bosses discovered they had more available space than they thought at the new base.

BBC Breakfast's sports presenter, Chris Hollins, 40, has also spoken out about the move.

He said in a recent interview: ‘What is most disappointing is that I don't think [the move] is an economic decision or an editorial decision; it's merely a political decision.

'It doesn't take a brain surgeon to say that it will be practically impossible to get the Prime Minister on set, as we do at the moment.'

Louise Minchin, 42, who also works for the News Channel and The One Show, is also expected not to renew her contract on the show.

Brain drain: Host Louise Minchin works for both BBC Breakfast and The One Show is also expected not to renew her contract on the show

BBC Breakfast has enjoyed a successful few years – regularly pulling in audiences in excess of 1.7 million. It often has more than double the viewing figures of ITV rival Daybreak.

More than 2,300 staff are moving to the new Media City site which is expected to cost £877 million to build and run.

It is part of a wider BBC plan to meet proposed quotas for half of all programming to be made in the regions by 2016 to prove it is not London-centric.

Executives have pledged that in the next five years 50 per cent of the programming budget will be spent outside the capital and have already started migrating top shows.

But it requires sending staff and guests who live in London around the country as well as building new sites – and will cost the licence fee payer in excess of £1 billion.

Critics have accused the BBC of ‘geographical correctness’ and wasting public money in trying to show that the licence fee is relevant to everyone.

The relocation of staff to Salford has come under particular criticism because many senior executives involved in the move, have opted not to live in the region.

BBC North director Peter Salmon and Radio Five Live controller Adrian Van Klaveren were criticised after it emerged that they will initially rent a flat at licence-fee payers expense near the new base at Salford Quays rather than move.

The BBC refused to comment.

The Queen of self-promotion comes over all shy? Katie Price covers her entire body in blanket arriving at studio with Leandro

By Sarah Fitzmaurice

Undercover op: Normally Katie is happy to be pictured in whatever she is wearing but earlier today she came over all shy and completely covered up in a blanket

She is the Queen of self-promotion having lived her life out in front of the cameras inviting them into her home, to her weddings and she always makes the most of a photo opportunity.

So it seemed a little strange that today Katie Price came over all camera-shy.

As the 32-year-old model arrived at film studios earlier today Katie decided to cover her entire body and face in a furry blanket to avoid getting snapped.

Katie arrived at the London studio dressed in a baby pink outfit with a fluffy gillet, matching tracksuit bottoms and pink sheepskin boots.

And while Katie appeared to have come over all shy Leandro, who was of course by her side, didn’t feel the need to cover up and strolled into the studios behind his new girlfriend in a pair of jeans and a black jacket with a pair of dark sunglasses.

Cat and mouse: Katie was seen hiding in her car before she decided to use the blanket to cover herself to avoid being photographed

Not so shy: Yesterday Katie Price didn't seem to mind the cameras as she left a tanning salon but earlier today she hid in a blanket to avoid being photographed

Yesterday as the pair visited a local tanning salon the roles were reversed when Leandro was the one who feeling bashful who pulled his hood right over his face.

Meanwhile Katie didn’t seem to mind being photographed as she emerged with her deep mahogany tan in a pair of blue jogging bottoms, a baggy white T-shirt and her hair piled up on top of her head.

The pair have been inseparable since the 25-year-old jetted into the U.K. earlier this month little over a week after they first met.

Regained confidence? Leandro didn't seem to mind being spotted but yesterday he appeared to be bashful as he and Katie left a tanning salon together

And wherever Katie goes Leandro isn’t far behind and he has been accompanying her on a promotional tour for her latest reality TV series Katie.

Leandro has opened up about his feelings for the model in an interview with Argentine magazine Caras published exclusively in this week’s Reveal magazine.

The South American confessed: ‘Am I excited about our relationship? Yes of course. Even better Katie doesn’t want me to leave.’

Never apart: Since Leandro jetted into the U.K.little over a week after they first met he has been by Katie's side and has gushed about how he can't wait for her to meet his family

And it isn’t just Katie that Leandro has been gushing about– the model has also been spotted carrying Junior, Katie’s five-year-old son with her first husband Peter Andre.

Speaking about her brood which includes Harvey, eight, Junior and three-year-old Princess Leandro said: ‘Katie has a beautiful family. Her mum is lovely and so are her children.’

He added: ‘Family is very important to me, and Katie’s family are great and they don’t want me to leave.’

Speaking of which Leandro is quick to reveal that he can’t wait for the Brighton-born model to meet his own family.

He said: ‘Yes it is true that she’ll be coming to Argentina with me.’

‘I’m going to introduce her to my family and all of that.’

‘I’ve only done that a few times in my life… I want her to know my roots and my world.'

She's toxic! Britney Spears does Jackass-style stunt in a chemical toilet before performing live on Jimmy Kimmell

By JODY THOMPSON

Ooops! Britney Spears got covered in the contents of a chemical toilet in a Jackass sketch on the Jimmy Kimmell show last night

Britney Spears proved she'll do pretty much anything to promote her comeback tour and album when she staged a stunt on U.S. TV last night in a Portaloo.

In a skit mocked up with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, the Toxic singer was shot into the sky in a chemical toilet in a sketch for Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The game-for-a-laugh singer was seen getting into the blue cube and holding on for life, before it seems to be propelled into the air on bungee ropes as the liquid contents of the lav splashed around her.

Toilet humour: The singer was seen being put up for the Portaloo bungee stunt by Jackass mainman Johnny Knoxville

The star was then seen extricating herself from the plastic privy, her white vest top now soaked blue, and chasing after the Jackass crew, before punching Knoxville in the crotch.

The sketch - called the 'Poo Cocktail Supreme' starts with Knoxville quizzing Britney if there's anything she's scared off as she prepares to relaunch her career.

Knoxville asks: 'Are you scared of heights? Are you scared of poo-poo? What about pee-pee?'

Silly stunt: The Jimmy Kimmell skit then supposedly showed the singer locked into the contraption which was attached by ropes to two huge cranes

To which Britney shakes her head in the negative and asserts: 'No, I'm not scared of poo-poo or pee-pee.'

Dressed in a white vest and leggings, she is then given a pair of goggles and is shut in the cubicle, saying: 'This is Britney Spears, and this is the Poo Cocktail Supreme.'

Johnny then says: 'I hope you're not claustrophobic,' as Spears is seen sitting on the seat, exclaiming: 'Oh my God!'

Sky high: The Portaloo was then propelled metres into the air on two bungee ropes as the singer was seen inside getting covered in the checial contents

Poo-per star: The contents of the chemical toilet was then seen exploding out of it, supposedly with the singer inside

Strong-er smell: Britney was seen supposedly getting totally soaked by the contents of the toilet as it bounced up and down on the ropes

She's a wonder! Fans get their first glimpse of Adrianne Palicki in action as Wonder Woman as filming gets underway in LA

By Daily Mail Reporter

On the run: Adrianne Palicki was seen filming action sequences on the set of the Wonder Woman remake

Ever since Adrianne Palicki landed the role of Wonder Woman in the remake of the classic TV series, fans of the show have been eager to see the actress in action.

Now they finally have the chance to catch a glimpse of Adrianne taking on the role, after the first pictures were released from the set of the show in Los Angeles.

The snaps show Adrianne - in her sexy new Wonder Woman costume -running down the street during the filming of an action sequence.

And the 27-year-old also shows off her stunt skills at one point by running over the roof of a car.

The original version of Wonder Woman was one of the biggest small screen hits of the 1970s and made a star of Lynda Carter, who played the superheroine.

The character was known for having a wealth of superpowers, including superhuman strength, superhuman speed and extra-strong senses.

Action woman: Adrianne, a relative unknown, beat several other actresses to win the coveted role

New look: Adrianne's costume swaps the pants worn by Lynda Carter in the 1970s for a pair of skin-tight PVC trousers

The new incarnation will also feature actress Elizabeth Hurley, who will play Wonder Woman's nemesis Veronica Cale.

Hurley recently revealed she was part of the show by posting on Twitter when she first got the role: 'Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman'.

She added that she will be playing the lead character's nemesis saying: 'I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait'.

Show makeover: Wonder Woman - aka Diana Prince is not only a crimefighting vigilante but also a successful corporate executive

Carefully does it: Adrianne - looking every inch the superheroine - showed off a few skills of her own while filming took plce

It was announced in February that relative unknown Adrianne Palicki had beaten a number of other actresses to the role of Wonder Woman.

Palicki is better known in America for her role in the drama series Friday Night Lights, but has yet to make a household name for herself.

Shortly after she was revealed to have the lead a photo of her appeared in the character's revamped costume, which ditched the 'big pants' worn by Lynda Carter in the 70s in favour of skin-tight PVC trousers.

However the costume attracted some controversy for not featuring the patriotic American stars and stripes which featured on Carter's outfit.

Rival TV network Fox said; 'The new and allegedly improved Wonder Woman (a.k.a Diana Prince) has been given a head-to-toe makeover by artist Jim Lee, replacing her signature American flag decorated briefs with skintight…pants and purging the super hero of all her trappings of Americana.

A spokesperson for the character's creator DC Comics defended the new look, saying 'The latest evolution of Wonder Woman’s iconic costume is a central part of the latest comic book storyline.

The new show is written by writer and producer David E. Kelley, who brought Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope and Boston Legal to our screens.

The plot is described as 'a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman - aka Diana Prince - is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

No broadcast date for the show has yet been given.

Many Hollywood actresses had been vying for the coveted role of Woman Woman, among them Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks.
