But there was certainly no class divide for Elizabeth McGovern and Joanne Froggatt as they both stole the show on the red carpet tonight.
The Downton Abbey stars dazzled for the flashbulbs as they arrived at the Royal Opera House in London for this year's Orange Bafta Film Awards.

Elizabeth, 50, who plays Lady Cora Crawley, looked gorgeous in a long strapless black gown with an embellished bodice as she stopped for the cameras on the way inside.
She kept her accessories simple and elegant as she teamed the dress with a small silver clutch bag by Jimmy Choo, drop earrings and a diamond necklace and bracelet.
Joanne, 31, who plays head housemaid Anna Smith, looked very chic in her simple floor-length black dress by Victoria Beckham, which had a long zip running all the way down the back and which she teamed with black shoes and a small gold clutch bag, both by Jimmy Choo.

And it proved to be a glamorous night worthy of the blonde bombshell herself with some of the biggest names in British film gracing their red carpet with their stunning presence.

It's certainly the biggest night of the year for British film and the chance for actors, actresses and other celebrities to really make an impression on the red carpet.
However, it wasn't a complete success for Fearne Cotton and Edith Bowman who left their mark for all the wrong reasons.
The ladies were snapped arriving at the Orange Bafta Film Awards in London this evening, in frumpy and unflattering dresses that did nothing for their lovely figures.

Her Radio 1 colleague Edith, 38, also made a bit of a disastrous attempt at red carpet glamour when she arrived in a shapeless, off-the-shoulder William Vintage white dress.
The frock, which had a lace and jewelled trim on the neckline, had flared short sleeves and hem and fell out at the sides doing nothing for her figure.

In contrast, Radio 2 host Zoe Ball looked very elegant in a long black dress with long sleeves and which was tied at the neck with a pretty gold clasp.
